Our Heritage
India won its first world cup in 1983 and the iconic scene of India’s captain, Kapil Dev, spraying champagne from the balcony of Lord’s while joyously holding the trophy over his shoulders, is the one to remember. While Indians were busy celebrating their victory over West Indies, something else was baking in the faraway lands of Gujrat.
